Bhasma Aarti
Ujjain Mahakleshwar Bhasma Aarti is the most famous ritual among all aartis at the Mahakaleshwar temple. In bhasma aarti, the Shivling is worshipped with ash & then after, Pujan & abhishek with Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee & sugar) has been done. After Panchamrit abhishek, Lord Shiva’s traditional adornment (Shringar) with Bhang & Dry fruits has been done. After Shringar, the Aarti with Vedic chants and mahamrityunjaya mantras with traditional Indian percussion instrument done by all Mahakal Mandir priests and support staff. Dadyodak Aarti
The Dadyodak aarti is also known as Bal bhog aarti. The timing of this aarti is 07:00 AM to 07:45 AM everyday in the morning. In this Aarti, food is offered to the Shivling. The Vedic chants, mantras, and traditional instruments were played during this Dadyodak aarti.
Bhog Aarti
In the Bhog aarti, the midday meal is offered to lord shiva. The timing of this aarti is 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM every day.
Sandhya Aarti
Sandhya Aarti is the evening Aarti of Lord Shiva. The timing of this aarti is 07:00 PM to 07:45 PM every day. During this aarti, Vedic chants and mantras are performed, accompanied by traditional instruments, by the priest and management staff of the mandir. Here you can book Sandhya Aarti. The Sandhya Aarti booking opens daily at 12:00 PM.
Shayan Aarti
Shayan means sleep and rest. Shayan Aarti is the last Aarti of the day. The timing of this aarti is 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM every day. Shayan Aarti has also been paid from June 2026, and you have to pre-book online/offline to attend this Aarti. The Shayan Aarti Booking opens daily at 04:00 PM. Booking can be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mahakal Mandir Darshan Timings
The Mahakal Mandir darshan timing is available throughout the day from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Currently, the temple is in renovation phase, so the entry gate is not confirmed. You can confirm the by nearby persons or from your hotel staff to avoid any hurdles.
